Jet Hybrid Table Saw
The Jet Hybrid Table Saw is a relatively recent addition to the Jet line. There is such a gulf between features on the heavy duty cabinet saws and the much lighter duty contractor's saws, a new category of saws that combines many of the features was necessary. Enter the Jet Hybrid Table Saw.
Hybrid table saws incorporate some of the most valuable features from the cabinet saw at a price that is still affordable for the home woodworker or small shop. They are lighter and are usually equipped with motors in the 1 to 1-3/4 H.P. range. They are almost always wired for 110 volt service so they can be used in any home shop without the need to rewire. Some Hybrid Table Saws have a cabinet style base while others sit on a heavy duty four legged stand. The base is usually fully enclosed with the motor housed inside instead of on the back like most contractors saws. Hybrid saws usually have heavier duty bearings and trunnions than their lighter cousin, the contractors saw. |
Another important distinguishing characteristic on most good quality hybrid saws is that the trunnions are mounted on the base of the saw making precision alignment of the blade with the miter slot and blade much easier
