This Delta 12 Inch Disk Sander 1957 No. 1426 was another quality Delta finishing machine designed for all types of finishing work on woods or metals. Easily moved into or out of the production line or anywhere in the shop where fast, accurate finishing is required.
Delta quality features included a fully machined, normalized disk that runs vibration free and assures proper adhesion of abrasive disks... disk mounted to end of the motor shaft for powerful, accurate operation... husky spindle carried on sealed-for-life ball bearings ...scientifically ribbed table supported by widely spaced trunnions. These and other big features made this machine extremely popular in hundreds of installations from the pattern shop to the factory production line.
Plain and compound miters are easily handled with the aid of the No. 864 Miter Gage. Accuracy makes it an ideal pattern shop tool.
Handy lock knob was positioned on either side of the table and locks it securely at any angle. Easy-to-read scale shows exact degrees of tilt.
The scientifically ribbed table is mounted on two widely spaced trunnions for maximum support and rigidity. A dust chute carries off sawdust to the rear.
All kinds of deburring, grinding and finishing can be done quickly and easily - free-hand curved grinding, finishing with jigs, angle grinding, miter finishing.
