Stanley No. 5 wood plane?

by Dan Andrews
(Chaumont, NY)

14" long, has "BAILEY" in raised letters accross the toe of the frame. Also on the frame are patent dates 1902, 1902 and 1910 and "STANLEY R.&L.CO. BED ROCK" on the lever cap. The plane iron is also Stanley. All the parts go together properley. The handle and knob are rosewood.

Is this plane a mongrel? Any idea of the year?

Sorry, no pics. I am a low tech person and don't have a digital camera yet. Been meaning to get one.
