The Stanley Bedrock No. 607 Jointer Plane is another version of the Stanley Bailey series of metal planes. Like the Bailey planes, these have an adjustable frog, a brass depth adjustment knob, a lateral adjustment lever, a lever cap, and a rosewood knob and tote. The difference between the Bedrock and the Bailey series was in how the frog mates with the bed of the plane. Another difference on some Bedrocks are the sides of the plane. On early Bedrocks the sides of the plane near the frog are rounded like they are on the Bailey series of planes. After improvements were made to the frog on Bedrock planes, the tops of the curved sides were cut off and left flat. These later Bedrocks had flat sides instead of the rounded ones found on the earlier planes.
The No. 607 Jointer Plane also came with a corrugated bottom and was known at the 607C.
