McKenzie or Sorby Jointer Plane

McKenzie or Sorby Jointer Plane

Hi, I have what I believe to be a jointer plane, wood body 22" long. There is a faint stamp on the leading end of the plane: "McKenzie, warranted, Aberdeen".

The knife is stamped "Robert Sorby, Sheffield England".

As far as I can see, there are no other identifying marks. Can anyone tell me if the plane is actually made by McKenzie or Sorby, and what the approximate date may be? Any info greatly appreciated thanks.

Sorby?

At 22 inches in length, this is a try plane. Too short to be a jointer, though it does much the same job.

Blades, come, and blades go. The plane was not made by Sorby, only the blade.

I have a similar A. McKenzie 22" plane w/ a Robt Sorby iron. I have been unable to learn anything further. Condition is very good. No cracks, splits or checks, sound wedge, only .010" twist in sole.
