Delta Jig Saw

I have a vintage jig saw. It must be from the 1930's or earlier. It has a motor which is probably 1 horse. I would like to know if there is any value in it as I would like to sell it. I have no idea what it is worth. It's been in our garage for years and my husband recently passed away so I would like to sell it if possible.

Old Delta #40-440 Jig Saw Value
by: Dave the Tool Guy

If the Jig saw is a Delta 40-440 then I recently sold two of them for $300+ That is a great old saw made with real metal and weighs a lot. Don't let anyone have it for less than a couple hundred anyway, even in bad shape.
I sell woodworking machines all the time and these take a little while but when the right guy comes along $300+ is no problem.

Do you have a picture of the saw. The moving company just "lost" this similar saw when moving my uncles shop from Maryland to Florida. I am looking to give them an option for replacing it.
