Craftsman Radial Arm Saw Model 113.29942

My dad gave me an old sears radial arm saw a couple of years ago so i could build some shelves in my family room.

Well I didn't get the handyman gene and I am not exactly a real repairman when it comes to tools like these, but the job was done.

The cutting board was old particle board and the blade is so loose it makes a cut about 3/8" wide and the plastic key that used to go in the on/off switch is gone and I think there is a nail in it to turn it on.

Any ideas about what I should be doing to get this old girl back on the shop floor? Apparently there is another project for shelving in another room.

Thanks in advance.

What do you have?

I am amazed at folks asking for help from other (which is what it is all about) we should be able to do that but so many like this case don't send a photo. Whether it be the case they don't have a camera, don't know how to use the one they have or just are...Don't want to take the time. If there was one model of every type saw no matter what the age is it wouldn't matter but that isn't the case. I see it time and time again. Folks, this is why you don't get any help frequently. It's a problem. I am sorry I am just trying to suggest a way to make this opportunity more productive.
