Boice Crane Bandsaw

I have a Boice Crane Bandsaw that I am having a hard time finding information about. On the tag (2nd Photo) it reads Boice Crane Div. Saw,band, metal and wood. Model number 2399 Serial R 13. 1/2 HP 220V 50CYC 3PH A.C. It looks like manufacture date is 5/86? The saw works fine and is in decent condition but I have no idea what it's worth. It just sits in my garage and collects dust. If anyone can give me any info about this saw I'd appreciate it. Thanks Larry

Okay. I was high bid about 25+ years ago. The saw was laying on its side. It didn't have the base but looking at it, knew it had possibilities. Sure I criticized it about flex but the days of cast iron frames were almost gone. I couldn't place a larger band saw anyway. The blade guides are quite a puzzle at first, especially if the machine had been dropped on its side. Rebuilt/recovered them to my use. The data of rpm is: 92-1120. Sfpm is 92-4100. -that is according to other info on the web. Remember they were ranking these up for friction sawing too.

Hi. I was researching mine and found this nice site. Model 2399 Serial RF-32. Another badge says Property of USAF DO NOT REMOVE THIS TAG . It has an awesome gearbox for many speeds. Wheels are 14" moulded "Textolite" 1" wide. Throat depth 13 1/2".
I like it a lot after 20 years of random use. It goes right thru wood with proper blade but I use it for metal.

I believe you have a saw that was sold to either the Air Force or other branch of the military. Here are a couple of links to sites you may want to visit. http://vintagemachinery.org/photoindex/detail.aspx?id=14416
