I have been using the 8" table saw my father purchased new since I was old enough to do so and keep all my fingers...
When Dad died in 1980 all his tools came to me.
Last Saturday ( 08 Jan, 2010) the saw was pitched onto its side by a 6.1 earthquake here in Eureka, Calif. That broke the counterbalanced crank handle on the table tilkting screw. So I'm going to have to replace that handle, perhaps cobble up something in the shop as I did when the locking handle on the fence broke back about 1960.
Other than that, this old saw has cut a lot of wood. Built a couple of houses and projects undoubtedly numbering in the thousands.
